As the date of my book’ s debut approaches, I am excited–but I feel a bit like the Irish monks of yore. It’s said that when they wanted to found a new community, they put out to sea in small boat with no oars, and went where the currents and God’s providence took them. I’ve wanted to be an author–not just someone who writes–for a long time and it seems I am poised to make that transition. As the Breton fishermen (and I suspect, those Irish monks) prayed, “O God, thy sea is so great and my boat is so small….”
Even as I am making preparations for that exciting date, I am off to Ireland to research the second book in the series. I knew I made one of the main characters Irish for a reason.
